Water soluble thread is used in regular sewing and applique, as well as advanced quilting techniques like trapunto. Many longarm quilters use it to attach their quilts to leaders on the frame or for basting layers before quilting. Two types of water soluble thread are available: Wash Away and Spritz Away. Artistic Wash Away thread dissolves when immersed in water and is available in 1,000 yard spools. Spritz Away is a light thread, and vanishes from a light mist of water. It is available in 2,000 yard spools.
